Are you looking for somebody young who can grow with a business over the long term, but has the experience and capabilities of somebody much older and wiser? One way to tell when somebody has transformed and evolved through their career is when they go from asking the majority of the questions, to answering them. This is just one of the many things that I’ve learned and mirrored from the leaders within my organization. From this, I have been able to step up and not only streamline the functions within my own department increasing throughput and cutting labor costs, while also allowing upper management to do what they are most talented and not get caught up in the day-to-day problems. In order to achieve this task, I have worked countlessly on my leadership and communication skills. This work was not handed on a silver platter, but through self-direction and perseverance this has been possible.I am consistently solving at least 2-3 problems per week, communicating with several contractors daily to ensure we are meeting their needs and deadlines, and monitoring costs and profit for every job, which is typically at least 3 jobs per day. While having the autonomy to deal with and resolve customers’ needs, I must think about my organization as a whole and do what is best not only in the short term, but also in the long term for our customers, employees, and company as a whole. My managers have pushed me to excel every day and I receive feedback through annual performance reviews and daily meetings. If you are looking for somebody who looks up when they’re walking instead of down at their phone, is a decision maker instead of decision taker, and wants to learn not only now, but in the future as well, you have come to the right place.
