The title of my research is “Socio-Religious Arena and the Relationship among Various Communities during Mughal Period”. To elaborate, I've worked on an important aspect of social history of Mughal India, i.e. understanding the pattern of relationship existed between the two major communities, viz. Hindus and Muslims. This study is focused chiefly on northern India, i.e. the Indo-Gangetic basin which was the heartland of the Mughal Empire. References of Deccan and South India are there but not in abundance. The timeline is roughly from the fifteenth to the mid eighteenth centuries. The fifteenth century saw the disintegration of the Delhi Sultanate but it also witnessed such developments, e.g. popular monotheistic movement, which molded the course of time. From the latter half of the eighteenth century, the conquest of India was begun by the British East India Company and this gave birth to new processes, e.g. colonization of society and economy which were essentially different from the previous one.In future, I want to be focused on the study of the following-1. Socio-economic causes of the remarkable growth of the saguna bhakti movement during the sixteenth-seventeenth centuries.2.
