My background in building three successful technology companies from scratch, my research in (and passion for) socio-economic inequality, and my ability to build bridges between technology and “the real world,” means I have a unique combination of skills and abilities. I created and built Schauffhauser Ltd.—trading as OnDaMove—in 2011, and it was one of the very first companies to use geo-spatial data collection via cell phones. Even though this kind of technology sounds unremarkable in 2019, in 2011, it was considered revolutionary. The company was acquired within 1.5 years of launching.I created and built my most recent technology company—Open Data Sciences, Inc,—from scratch. As with all the tech companies I built, it started with a very low budget, and I did everything including coding, de-bugging, sales, marketing, and management for the company. ODSC expanded so rapidly that we had to grow fast to keep the operations live. So I am used to “upgrading the plane as it is flying midair.” Some of ODSC partners include Google, Intel, Microsoft, SAS and Amazon.Although I am hugely successful as a tech entrepreneur and innovator, I have handed over all my current responsibilities because I feel a strong calling to become part of the climate of socio-political change that is occurring in the US today, and with my skill set and background, I would make a unique contribution to a mission and team with similar values.
