Ms. Manal Eid is an accomplished community development professional with 20 years of experience providing project design, management and technical leadership for development programs in Egypt. During her three years’ work with USAID and currently with Global Affairs Canada, Manal has demonstrated an ability to form collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, government officials and NGO partners. As a sociologist, she has a firm technical background, which has been enhanced through her experiences in the design, management and evaluation of development projects. Ms. Manal’s technical expertise has been enhanced over the past two decades through her work as a social development consultant with several development organizations such as the UNDP, IFAD and the World Bank. Throughout her career, Ms. Eid has continued to work on empowering communities and creating synergies while remaining up to date on international standards and innovations. Ms. Eid has extensive experience liaising with government officials, NGO leaders and other key representatives. She has strong communication and facilitation skills and possesses the proven credentials and skills to effectively interact with high-level stakeholders and partners. Through her current role as Senior Development Officer at Global Affairs Canada, Ms. Eid oversaw five multi-million dollar grants and assisted in drafting strategic plans and other critical mission documentation. Ms. Eid is the now the lead on the education portfolio. As the team leader for the education program, she provides technical direction and support to the planning and designing of education projects as well as monitoring and reporting.
