She has recognized expertise in the economics-energy-climate nexus and pro-sustainability policies in resource developing economies, focusing on MENA & EasternMed regions. She is Senior Research Fellow-Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School, Seminar Leader for Economics at Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, & member of SEESOX’s Eastern Mediterranean Programme-St Antony’s College. She is Founding Director of SHEER Research & Advisory; Member of ANU's Institute for Energy, Climate, & Disaster Solutions; Research Fellow (elected), of the Economic Research Forum; & Advisory Board Member of EFI-KAPSARC energy transitions research project. She is a consultant to the International Energy Agency & an expert of UNFCCC on just energy transition, response measures to climate change, & diversification.Her work offers important contributions to the understanding & modeling of energy, economic, & climate policy alternatives. It spans socioeconomic impacts of climate & energy policy, hydrogen, gender, just transition, & clean technologies. An award-winning teacher, she received various honors, grants, & awards.She contributed to global debates on economic, energy, & climate policy. She provides insights to institutions, policymakers, firms, in media. She addressed by invitation the 1st High-Level Mini terial Roundtable on Just Transition at COP28 to help ministers & delegates prepare text of the Just Transition Work Programme (JTWP) as well as 1st JTWP Dialogue at SB60 2024 Bonn Climate Conference. She constructed an economic models for policymaking; delivered capacity building to policymakers; led/co-authored policy briefs to T7 (G7),T20 (G20), the IPCC Special Report, Kuwait Energy Outlook; a UNFCCC report on impacts of response measures in developing countries (presented at COP26); & cement decarbonization.Beyond academia, she advises policymakers & firms including Fortune 500 co's. She was the in-house expert for a multinational oil & mining services company in Western Australia; was economist/manager in a Big 4 consulting firm advising multinationals, mostly in petrochemicals, energy, mining industries; & successfully launched & managed a business public policy project in the US. A polyglot, she speaks English, Arabic, French, Spanish; Mandarin Chinese, basic Italian & Hebrew. She was a volunteer yoga teacher to refugee women in Oxford.
