Responsible for the P&L of Aggregate Business, a Downstream Business within Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles . This business caters to the needs of customers looking for powertrains for Gensets and Off highway equipments , and trailer manufacturers who need complete solutions related to trailer axles and components .

• Create product plan and revenue models aligned with the organisational Strategy for non - vehicular Aggregate business .• Market study and competition benchmarking to identify viable business opportunities ( product and customer extension ).• Capture customer voice to build and meet performance attribute targets and ultimately reach the targeted market share . • Ensure competitiveness and profitability of product portfolio by application of appropriate cost and capex reduction levers. • Plan and kick off new programs in accordance with market opportunities or regulatory changes to ensure currency of the product .portfolio• Create review and governance mechanism to monitor progress against the product plan .

Managed the product portfolio of the Construck range of Medium and Heavy Commercial vehicles for both domestic and international markets. The role included the following :Understanding evolving product requirements through close Interaction with the Sales and Marketing and Product Planning teams to decide the product plan for the foreseeable future .Ensuring sustenance and improvement in Market Share through introduction of new products and applications as per product plan . Ensuring project timelines from design to launch and ramp up are met by continuous coordination with Engineering, Planning , Purchase and Supply Chain , Manufacturing Operations, Quality , Sales and Marketing and Service teams and taking proactive steps to ensure no delays .Achieving targeted cost and contribution margin values at launch and subsequent improvement through implementation of direct material cost reduction ideas.Ensuring timely program gateway approvals by senior management .Major achievements include the successful introduction of 37T /42T surface tippers, High End Prima Range of Tippers for deep as well as surface mining ( including the Lx version for cost conscious customers ), and customised applications like Boom Pump chassis . All these products have been successful in the market, leading to improved market share performance. Prima Lx 2530.K has been awarded as the MCV tipper of the year at Apollo CV Awards 2019.

Led a Cross functional team comprising members from manufacturing, quality, supply chain, planning , human resources and other support functions to ensure attainment of continually higher levels of World Class Quality( WCQ) in the Jamshedpur Plant . WCQ is a strategic initiative aimed at achieving and excelling the world's benchmark levels to manufacture and deliver best quality products to all the customers.

Tata Motors Jamshedpur plant contributes significantly to both the top and bottom line of the India Operations. My role as the Executive Assistant to Plant Head included the following :Identifying and driving major strategic projects at plant level and ensure constant alignment to corporate objectives through creation of the Plant level Balanced Score Card .Driving strategic projects aimed at ensuring benchmark performance on safety, quality, productivity, delivery, cost and environment.Assisting in executive decision making to ensure optimum resource allocation and utilization .Managing the stakeholder engagements of Plant Head including forums like CII , Govt meets etc to ensure adequate focus on both internal and external issues impacting business performance .

Coordinated cost reduction initiatives in operations in the areas of Fixed Cost Reduction , Variable Cost reduction , Working Capital improvement , Make vs Buy decisions, Cost of Poor Quality reduction , Press Yield Improvement and Manpower Cost Optimization . This included :Idea generation with help of Cross functional and cross locational teams .Evaluation of ideas generated , subsequent implementation and validation of financials by respective work stream controllers .

A short project as a part of my FTSS assignment which included the following activities :1. Setting up service quality systems for the accounts payable division of erstwhile shared services function of Tata Motors which was under migration into a Global Delivery Center. 2. Analysing projects with scope of Business Process Re-engineering and associated savings in terms of financial and other resources3 Creating documented processes with defined SLAs for shared services activities .

Responsible for the following aspects of performance of the machine shop and assembly lines of front axle business unit:• Line rejections ( product quality- first shot ok)• Customer rejections in Tata Motors Jamshedpur and Lucknow • Field failures ( Incidents Per Thousand Vehicles )• Cost of poor quality• Analysis of the same to find root causes of failures and taking specific intermediate and permanent corrective actions to ensure non- recurrence of issues.

Responsible for the following aspects of performance of the rear axle assembly unit :• Product quality ( first shot ok ,IPTV )• Volume delivery as per customer requirement ( TML Jamshedpur and Lucknow)• Productivity • Variable Conversion Cost and tool cost • Process improvements to ensure continuous progress against the above mentioned metrics
