After a decade in the newsroom, both digital and traditional, I decided to test just how multi-skilled journalists can get through their experience. On the content front, I went beyond snappy headlines, trendy stories and long-form storytelling to corporate communication and e-learning programmes — creating communication initiatives through newsletters and client testimonials, building learning journeys and creating content to enhance skills, interviewing CEOs and L&D experts, working on social media optimization, and building promotional & demo content for products.On the organisational front, I found similar ease in managing projects and timelines, working with multi-disciplinary teams (from reporters and editors to developers, tech heads and startup founders) and engaging with clients.Inherently, I'm someone who enjoys learning all kinds of information and seeing how the dots connect. I'm about both the big picture and the tiny details that make it up.I like words and visuals, and putting them together to convey ideas easily.Unfamiliar territory is not overwhelming, thanks to my years in journalism. I've grown quite octopus-like — multiple arms for the many simultaneous tasks the digital world demands. Having spent time tracking breaking and developing news stories, I'm keenly tuned to trends. It also means I can quickly identify the target audience.
