I architect solutions for model-based engineering of complex systems in a wide array of application areas, such as aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, energy and sustainability, supply chain, and mechatronics. I am motivated by the potential to advance the state and practice of engineering with modeling, computing, and simulations. I lead the development of systems engineering software for rapid, continuous, and federated development of complex systems. For details, please visit www.intercax.com/mbse and www.intercax.com/products.I have successfully led R&D projects with leading government and industrial organizations, including NASA, NIST, DARPA, Sandia National Labs, Ford, GE, Rockwell Collins, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin. I coach organizations in developing their model-based engineering practice and environment. I have co-developed a comprehensive and successful SysML & Model-Based Systems Engineering training program that has been attended by over 2000 system engineers and scientists since 2008. For details, visit www.intercax.com/training.Specialties: Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Product/Systems Lifecycle Management, Simulation-based Design, Systems Modeling Language (OMG SysML), ISO 10303 (STEP) standards, Knowledge Representation, Modeling and Simulation, Standards and Interoperability, Technical Leadership, Start-ups, Product Marketing and Branding

Co-Founder & Chief Systems OfficerIntercax Llc Dec 2007 - PresentAtlanta, Ga, UsOur mission is to innovate software that fundamentally advances computer-based modeling and simulation of complex systems. Our technology is playing a leading role in transitioning the industry from a document-centric to a model-centric approach for designing and managing complex systems, ranging from spacecrafts and avionics to smart grids and supply chains. Our initial focus has been general purpose systems modeling and simulation products based on SysML. Our next-generation products are vertical apps for specific industries and domains. Graduate ResearcherGeorgia Institute Of Technology 2001 - 2007Atlanta, Georgia , UsI developed the Knowledge Composition Methodology (KCM) for formulating engineering analysis models. KCM enables automated creation, reconfiguration and verification of analysis/simulation models based on mathematical graph transformations. KCM can be used to formulate analysis models for (a) design alternatives with variable system topology—characterized using number and type of components and interactions, and (b) different idealizations specified by analysts. My dissertation is available at: http://hdl.handle.net/1853/26639As a graduate researcher at Georgia Tech, I worked on several industry and government-sponsored projects, and contributed significantly to the development of ISO 10303-210 (STEP AP210) and SysML international standard as part of PDES Inc. and OMG working groups. Some of the my projects are as follows:+ Capturing Design Process Information and Rationale to Support Knowledge-Based Design-Analysis Integration (NIST and Georgia Tech) - http://www.eislab.gatech.edu/projects/nist-dai/ + AP210-based PCB Stackup Design and Warpage Analysis (NIST and Georgia Tech) - http://www.eislab.gatech.edu/projects/nist-warpage/ + Information Technology and Knowledge-Based Engineering for Enhanced Electronics Manufacturing (Rockwell Collins and Georgia Tech) - http://www.eislab.gatech.edu/projects/rci-sfm/ + The Composable Object (COB) Knowledge Representation: Enabling Advanced Collaborative Engineering Environments (NASA GSFC, NASA JPL, Lockheed Martin and Georgia Tech) - http://www.eislab.gatech.edu/projects/nasa-ngcobs/ + Semantic Framework for Distributed Simulation (Sandia National Labs and Georgia Tech) + Development of Advanced Collaborative Engineering Environments (NASA JPL and Georgia Tech) - http://www.eislab.gatech.edu/projects/nasa-jpl-cee/ + Research, Development, and Implementation of Next-Generation Engineering Frameworks (Institute of Scientific Research and Georgia Tech) - http://www.eislab.gatech.edu/projects/nasa-isr-gisstr/ -
Extreme Blue InternIbm May 2004 - Aug 2004Armonk, New York, Ny, UsProject: Diagnostics for open standards-based product lifecycle management (PLM)+ Co-developed the following metrics for measuring the "degree-of-openness" of engineering information models: "Completeness", "Coverage", and "Compatibility". + Developed algorithms for computing "degree-of-openness" of eCAD models (in COTS tools) to STEP AP210 standard.+ Led the final Extreme Blue team presentation to IBM leadership team.+ Co-authored 2 conference papers that were presented at the ASME IDETC/CIE conference 2005. One of the papers won the Robert E. Fulton Best Paper Award.+ Co-authored a paper in the Journal of Computing and Information Science in EngineeringFor details on IBM Extreme Blue program, visithttp://www-01.ibm.com/employment/us/extremeblue/ -
Graduate InternRockwell Collins May 2003 - Aug 2003Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Us+ Developed SDF - a rule-based software framework for design-for-X (e.g. manufacturability, assembly, test) analyses of electronics systems. SDF makes it possible for designers to identify manufacturability issues early in design process, thus reducing the cost of non-conformance and improving manufacturing yield.+ SDF was the first application to drive manufacturability analyses of printed circuit boards and assemblies from AP210-based product models. Product definitions in AP210 enable SDF to reason about different aspects (e.g. material, geometry, interfaces) of electronic systems at multiple levels of abstraction (e.g. PCB, package, PCA, and enclosure).+ Deployed SDF for production usage by DFM engineers at Rockwell Collins headquarters in Cedar Rapids.+ Published and presented a paper on SDF at the IEEE / SEMI / CPMT Semicon West conference 2003. The paper won the Best Paper Award in Factory Simulation, Automation, and Integration session. See the award at: http://goo.gl/ERvlA -
Undergraduate InternMazagon Dock Limited May 2000 - Jul 2000As an undergraduate intern in the Forward Design Group at MDL, I worked on the following projects.+ Passenger space allocation for cruise ships+ Hydrostatic computations for a barge+ Dry-docking principles for repairing damaged ships
