As a Mechanical Engineer I am responsible for supporting our projects in the New York City. Additional responsibilities include identification and documentation of energy conservation opportunities that generate energy savings at their respective sites.- Design of central utility systems in order to achieve prominent energy efficiency.- Conduct analysis of heating, cooling, and cogeneration projects and gather information such as existing equipment, chilled water, electric, and steam information from the client.- Study/Analyze the data retrieved from the project facility for energy optimization projects, conduct field surveys to detect any energy conservation measures which could be applied at the facility, and perform commissioning services to ensure proper functionality of the equipment.- Document and generate reports from the data obtained during the energy audits conducted at the project site.- Conduct surveys for overall distribution and piping network and to collect flow and pressure drop data either from site or by physically measuring it in order to perform hydraulic analysis.- Building a Hydraulic model on modelling software like AFT Fathom or Pipeflo and detect pressure/flow/velocity deficiencies at the current capacity, or in the case of expansion, in the future capacity in the distribution system at the site.- Propose quality standard solutions to improve the overall system and maintain scalability whilst maintaining system’s energy consumption in case of future enhancements plans- Make thorough calculations based on the data acquired and propose quality standard solutions/options to the client.- Develop estimated cost savings and payback analyses for the determined initiatives.
