My PhD work was focused on voltage controlled magnetization and magnetic anisot-ropy, which has potential application in electrically controlled magnetic data storage and switching devices for spin electronics. One of the most amazing prospects in magnetism is pos-sibility of electric control of magnetic state in a device. The major aim of my research was to discover new material with magneto-electric properties. Using first-principles calculations, I have investigated that organo-metallic vanadium-benzene nanowires has novel magneto-electric effect. In addition, the effect of electric field and magnetic anisotropy and micromag-netic nucleation modes has been investigated using first-principles an micromagnetic model calculations.
