In this undergraduate program for starter researchers, I started my own project under guidance. During my whole year in the lab, I participated 2 projects.The first one was Bumble Bee free flight behavior, focusing on their response to flight tunnel height change. The team designed and built a flight arena with baits and possible condition for the bees to live in. The arena was transparent for observation, had an adjustable ceiling to change height, and is entiring water prove. The second project was related to neuroscience of insects. We conducted imaging on the descending connective of hawk moth and trained machine model to coundt the number of cells on one picture. We proved that there are more cells in the descending connective than it used to be thought.
