Research Scientist (Analytical)
Current• Develop chromatographic methods to separate complex mixtures for trace level analysis and small molecules characterization using separations techniques (LC, GC). Identify the structure and composition of small molecules (LCMS, HPLC, GCMS, Pyrolysis GCMS, headspace GCMS and other advanced detectors).• Developing expertise in deformulation of materials & formulations to understand the composition using various Analytical techniques. Data correlation to understand final material composition.• Closely working with synthesis scientists to understand their analytical needs and provide more insights for monomer impurity analysis.• Develop and validate quantitative GC, GCMS, LC and LCMS methods for component/impurity analysis. Implement the analytical methods at plant QC labs.• Collaboratively working with Solvay’s various global teams for various Projects.• Present detailed reports / results to the stake holders.• Provide training / guidance to the junior scientist for their analytical needs & development.• Develop new methods for new chemistries.• Team management, mentoring junior team members, collaboratively working with peers for value creation.• Use digital tools like Electronic Lab Notebook, Google Docs, Google Meet, LIMS, SAP, SRM7, CISPRO etc.• Write technical reports, SOPs, highlights.• Laboratory resources management (chemicals and material) based on project requirement and priorities including procurement.• Demonstrate a commitment to safety. Perform all work activities in a safe and timely manner. Proactively identify safety related items and initiate appropriate actions. Participate in safety audits and safety meetings.• Assisting higher management in the interview process for hiring of candidates.• Assisting higher management during new equipment procurement (CAPEX investment) by giving technical inputs from instrument comparisons to procurement.
