Bristol Gurmat Class is a voluntary run organisation based in the heart of Bristol, Fishponds. At this class, we teach children aged 5 years to 18 years the Punjabi language, focusing primarily on the correct pronunciation of the Punjabi letters and language with the aim of the young people being able to independently read prayers correctly and autonomously. Furthermore we pride ourselves on working in the community to provide young Sikh children with opportunities to learn and flourish within the Sikh community, offering mental health support, careers advice and help and support with any spiritual needs. We currently have over 100 children on our register and run classes every Saturday morning where young people can learn how to play traditional Indian instruments such as the Harmonium and Tabla.
