Art is in my blood. By the time I was fourteen, I had completed, designed, and self -published my first novel under the pen name A.K. Reiber. Since then, I have completed and published seven young adult fantasy novels; performed in "The Nutcracker" with the Tevlin Ballet; displayed my award-winning sculptures at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, Washington Park, the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and the Contemporary Arts Center; achieved the honor of finalist at Findlay Poetry and Spoken Word Competition and World Poetry Movement’s annual contest; and acted as dance captain and choreographer for Cincinnati Dance and Movement Center and Acting Up Community Theater. My college career at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, majoring in Illustration, has been punctuated with portfolio and merit awards including one of the most generous portfolio scholarships in AAC history, in addition to the ArtWorks Scholarship, the Hyde Park Art Show Scholarship, the Bertha Langhorst Werner Scholarship, the AAC’s 2015 Excellence Award, and cash prizes from the Golden Ticket Exhibition at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, the Minumentals Exhibition at the AAC, and the 2014 Duke Energy EcoSculpt produced by 3CDC. Within the past year, I have interned at The Carnegie in Covington and performed with Cincinnati Landmark Productions in "Footloose" and "9 to 5". My favorite achievements were earning the prized role of the Black Swan in InBocca Performance’s "Swan Lake" and performing the role of Odette in Cincinnati Dance and Movement Center’s rendition of the same ballet; dancing in "Shelter" at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival with Pones, Inc. and Queen City Flash; and producing a 20-foot-tall installation of origami “memory cranes” for the "Correlation" exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center. I am now choreographing a dance piece for Pones, Inc.'s "POV", a dance exploration of homelessness and poverty in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati.
