• In addition to the responsibilities as I did previously as an exam prep teacher (below) the promotion to assistant director includes the following duties:• Interview, hire, and train new teachers as well as offer support for existing teachers.• Create and modify the schedule for each week based on changing schedules.• Take payments, make appointments, and communicate with parents about how their students are doing in the program.

The location I work at received an award for Best of SLC for tutoring in 2020 during which time I was one of only a few teachers. We have also been nominated for best of 2021. Students often request me as their tutor.I work to empower high school students to improve their ACT and SAT scores by tutoring them in math, English, science, and reading.Because of the nature of the work I must quickly and frequently skill up in new subjects to a level of understanding requisite to patiently and creatively teach students who struggle in traditional school curriculums.I have tutored students of all ages in other school subjects such as literacy, phonics, biology, mathematics, government, and history, etc.I also have performed administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, taking payments, etc.I additionally have trained new teachers on effective teaching techniques and other procedures

I received a commendation for my participation in covering a sensitive story about a death on campus.I conducted research, pitched ideas, and wrote articles on current events for the news desk at the University of Utah. Because of the nature of working at a newspaper I learned to work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines and worked on multiple projects concurrently, but I often finished articles often before the required deadlines.

I taught English at the University of Utah on behalf of the Linguistics Department to visiting coaches from China and designed my own lesson plans based on suggested weekly topics.
