I am looking to take my experience as a claim examiner to the next level. I am seeking a position that will take my skills and experience into a project management role. As a claims examiner it was my responsibility to take a crisis from initial investigation all the way through resolution. This involves many different aspects. Speaking with parties involved, speaking with those that should have been involved but were not, working with a wide variety of external experts, reviewing expert reports, evaluating values of exposure to name a very few. Examples of experts would range from the medical field through physical evidence inspections. It is my responsibility to know when to engage these external experts and secure their services. It was my responsibility to maintain the status of their portion of my investigation. As it was part of completely reviewing an incident, I had to develop the ability to understand the information included in the expert reports. This gives me a background that helps me interpret information from medical records to cause and origin reports. Being able to understand and incorporate this information into one single report that gives a full understanding of the incident is critical to determining the overall financial exposure for our clients. With this final report, another report is generated to outline a financial exposure range for our clients so they are prepared for the final outcome.Bringing a file to resolution was the final task. This often involved negotiations with legal counsel. This process had many possibilities. Potenially the resolution was worked out between myself and legal counsel. If an impasse is reached, utilization of mediators or arbitrators would be used.
