April 2008, spent 15 wonderful years at UTHealth in a number of positions that grew my career. Starting as Administrative Assistant; supported up to 20 staff, managed all logistics associated with events, conferences, travel, office operations. October 2011, as Development Coordinator in fundraising programs and volunteer relations at Cizik School of Nursing; engaged in fundraising activities, special programs, events, liaison to Advisory Councils and volunteers. To volunteer PARTNERS organization, assisted in increasing paid membership by 35%, saw their scholarship endowment grow to over $2M. Managed annual membership coffees and luncheons, which honored nursing education, philanthropists; featured nationally known keynotes, raising $300K+ annually. Assisted in printed materials, social media, managed all logistics of activities and events with Dean’s Office, Advisory Councils, Alumni, students, special programs, volunteer boards. December 2016, became the department's very first Leadership Annual Giving Officer, working with university-wide annual fund priorities. July 2019, promoted to Assistant Director of Development in Annual Giving; trained/managed fellow annual gift officers. November 2020, joined Major Giving; promoted to Associate Director. In Annual Giving and Major Gifts, was privileged to work with wonderful donors to help them establish gifts most meaningful to their passions and life long journeys in all forms of annual, major and planned giving options, working collaboratively with colleagues and leadership. March 2023, joined Major Gifts in Philanthropy at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, joining in the fight to making cancer history. Earned BS in Psychology, Sociology minor, from the University of Houston; focused on inter-human relationships and behavioral patterns. I have 15 years of prior experience in administrative support and office operations, worked in child care, education, and the fast food/restaurant industry. Strong background experience in healthcare; health, property, life insurance; event planning/special events; board/volunteer relations; grants, non-profits, fundraising. I am extremely organized, detail focused, goal driven, learn quickly, work well in a fast paced environment, collaboratively and independently. I have high ambitions of a graduate degree, mentoring and learning from others, and touching lives. My career is focused on making a difference in the world, being a part of something much bigger than myself. I was once a patient and a student; I hope my career will help find cures and offset financial burdens.
