I interned at the Clemson University Outdoor Lab as a Camp Program Assistant Intern. I implemented and planned programs for Day Camp for children 5-12 years old. I led programs, special events, and activities in an outdoor setting. Also, I observed camper behavior and enforced appropriate safety and health regulations.

Through my Creative Inquiry in Health Promotion Across the Lifespan, I worked with Dr. Nicholson and the Preventing Alzheimer's with Cognitive Training study. One of my major tasks was coding the responses given by PACT study participants regarding their motivations for participating and what they hoped to get out of the study. I also wrote an literature review on two of the motivational themes that the PACT study noted that were predictors of adherence and retention of older adults in clinical studies.

I tutored Clemson University student athletes in statistics, chemistry, biology, and health science classes. I used a variety of approaches to help tutor the student athletes and was required to think on the spot and adapt to their learning styles. I managed expectations of tutoring with a collaborative and motivating approach. Through this position, I had to enforce NCAA regulations required by the student athletes but also myself in order to maintain confidentiality and academic integrity.

I worked as a Student Assistant in the South Carolina CDC High Obesity Program through Clemson University. I conducted community survey data collection throughout various counties in South Carolina. I practiced cultural competence when communicating with community members to ensure that they were able to answer the survey questions to the best of their abilities while feeling comfortable.

I served as the First Vice President for the SC Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity at Clemson University as the Vice President Operations. I fulfilled all administrative responsibilities of this chapter which included managing the chapter roster of over 330 members, all records regarding member status changes, and chapter member attendance. I also controlled the points and excuses systems for our chapter. As well as this I oversaw the Director Leadership and the Leadership Nominating Committee and helped assist voting procedures and chapter elections.

I served as the Director Member Conduct for the SC Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity at Clemson University. I enforced and promoted the expectations and obligations of membership of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity through managing the Bylaws and educating the chapter. I supported the implementation of the member accountability process by holding conduct meetings alongside the Member Conduct Committee.

I served as a member on the Recruitment Events Committee for the SC Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity at Clemson University. I helped create decorations and organize them during the recruitment process.

For my health science internship through Clemson University, I assisted in creating, implementing and evaluating a Community Health Program at the Blue Ridge Community Center nearby. The main goals were to promote overall health, health knowledge and literacy, and community well-being. One of the main programs was a Lunch and Learn which targeted older adults in the community by offering them healthy food options and an educational session about a health topic from a professional. The other program was an after-school session for middle school aged children in the area where they learned how to grow a garden and engage in healthy habits from a young age. Through this internship, I collaborated with several organizations in the local Clemson area and learned how to coordinate a Community Health Program.

I satisfied customer needs with shopping orders around the store as a Personal Shopper. I had to clarify any discrepancies and proactively offer solutions for shopping orders.
