Mandy has over 18 years of active-duty military service in the U.S. Coast Guard with extensive leadership experience across broad communities including public and private sector partners as well as local, State, Tribal, and Federal Government organizations. She is a passionate advocate for social equity interested in pivoting to work that leverages collaborative strategies to drive meaningful change and foster inclusive communities.A recent graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), Mandy focused her studies on Leadership and Social Policy with an emphasis on gender and education equity. She served as an Editor for the Gender Policy Journal, Finance Chair for the Women's Caucus, Class Representative for the Kennedy School Student Government, and a facilitator for the Center for Public Leadership's Spring 2022 Cohort. Prior to HKS, Mandy served as the Executive Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Strike Team, a world-wide deployable unit that responds to natural and manmade disasters. As a tribute to her work during this tour, Mandy was selected as the 2020 Uniformed Emergency Manager of the Year by the International Association of Emergency Managers. Since graduating, Mandy has returned to military service in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Program Analyst for the Department of Homeland Security. Upon retirement from military service, she will pursue work that brings people together to create a more just and equitable world.
