  I undertook the role of Care assistant on a home visit basis. I travelled around the local community to visit and care for clients with all sorts of different care plans. During my time working with Invercare, I learned so many skills which enabled me to give the best care possible. I travelled around the local community to visit and care for clients with all sorts of different care plans. During my time working with Invercare, I learned so many skills which enabled me to give the best care possible. A care plan which varied for each clients needs included:• personal care • moving and handling including putting the client on a sling and moving them into a wheelchair• bed baths and changing clothes • creating and making meals plans • applying creams and giving the correct medication • working as part of a duo to give all the clients the best care possible.• washing and cleaning to make sure the home stays clean• respite for clients who needed company to the shops or to give families some breathing space for a few hours • also there were also new duties that arose most days.I had the freedom to instill my personality within the clients care plan, examples being; singing with a dementia patient who was in a choir or creating a skin care routine for a client who had m.s and was unable to move but worked on a beauty counter before she deteriorated.I felt it necessary to try and bring happiness into every clients home. To give them a sense of joy if even for a small part of the day as so many of the clients were lonely aswell as dealing with a life changing illness. I love this type of work as it brings happiness to me and helping others feeds my soul in a way like nothing else. Show less
