For over the past decade, it has been a blessing to create challenging learning experiences for graduate and undergraduate business students in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Because of my work in entrepreneurship education, Roby Brock, executive producer and host of Talk Business & Politics, said that my classes could be “the breeding ground for Arkansas’ next generation of business leaders.” My effectiveness as a professor is demonstrated in part by my students’ achievements. Under my leadership, my students won over $100,000 in the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition. Furthermore, students in my Marketing Strategies course competed and had great success in the 2013 Collegiate Effie MINI USA Brand Challenge. A student team from my course presented to MINI USA executives and was selected as the national champion for their campaign, “MINI: What You’ve Been Looking For.” Over 50% of the teams in my course were in the top 15 campaigns in the country. In 2012, my husband Bryson and I started Verge Videos, a creative agency specializing in video campaigns. I bring these real-world experiences into the classroom to enhance my students' learning.
