I served at the pleasure of the Honorable Lynwood D. Jordan, Jr. as his staff attorney and chief deputy clerk of the Forsyth County Probate Court. My responsibilities included: Researching fiduciary, probate and guardianship and conservatorship law,Reviewing and preparing case summaries for cases to be heard by the Court, Drafting orders for cases heard by the Court, as well as other orders and other court correspondence pertaining to probate of wills, administration of estates, oversight of fiduciaries, appointment of guardians and conservators, Reviewing applications for Georgia Weapons Carry Licenses in light of state and federal statutory prohibitors, andRecommending legal conclusions to the Court for its consideration.

I helped individuals and businesses in Cherokee County and throughout metro Atlanta and North Georgia with their estate planning, probate, and civil legal problems, by:Advising them as to estate planning issues, and drafting their estate planning documents,Advising them regarding probate issues, in both uncontested and litigated cases,Assisting them with uncontested probate cases, and estate administration and discharge, Litigating contested probate cases as well as issues of guardianship and conservatorship,Advising them as to other business and civil litigation matters, andLitigating issues involving their businesses and their other civil cases.I also served as appointed counsel and Guardian Ad Litem on cases before the Cherokee County Probate Court.

I helped individuals and businesses in Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Pickens counties, and throughout metro Atlanta and North Georgia with their estate planning, probate, and business plans and problems, by: Advising them as to estate planning issues, and drafting their estate planning documents, including financial powers of attorney, advance directives for health care, last wills and testaments, trusts, as well as asset protection strategies including family limited liability companies, irrevocable life insurance trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, etc.,Advising them regarding probate issues, usually in uncontested cases, Assisting them with uncontested probate cases, and estate administration and discharge, Advising them as to business issues,Creating corporate entities including corporations and limited liability companies, Drafting operating agreements, shareholder agreements, purchase and sale agreements, etc., and Helping them with other personal and business agreements.

Before graduating from law school and sitting for the bar examination, I assisted the partners as they helped individuals and business throughout metro Atlanta and North Georgia with their estate planning, probate, and business needs.

While in my third year of law school, I participated in a legal externship program under the supervision of the Honorable Judge Susan Tate of the Athens-Clarke County Probate Court. In this capacity, I drafted orders as well as other court correspondence and conducted legal research pertaining to probate of wills, administration of estates and appointment of guardians and conservators; observed court proceedings and hearings.

While in my second year of law school, I assisted Professor Lisa Milot with some of her faculty service. In this capacity, I researched property law and tax law, exploring ownership over the human body, transfers of body parts, eggs, sperm, plasma, etc. and the legalities and tax implications of such transfers.

While in my final year of pursuing my undergraduate degree, I participated in an undergraduate externship program with Burns, Speights & Grisham, P.C. In this capacity, I assisted with the discovery process, conducted legal research, observed trial proceedings, and contacted potential new clients.
