Mandy is an academic from the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM). She has more than 15 years experience in higher education. Before joining academia, Mandy gained valuable corporate experience with both MNC and SME in the manufacturing sector. Mandy advocates collaboration, external engagement and knowledge exchange between the world of academia and industry. Mandy's current administrative leadership role revolves around matters related to personal tutoring, enhancing student teaching and learning experiences, and development activities. She works closely with tri-campus counterparts and internal stakeholders, including the student association and senior tutors across various faculties.Mandy is a Fellow of Advance HE and a Certified International Negotiator. In 2015, she was awarded the Asia's Education Leadership Award in Singapore, recognising her significant contributions to the education industry. In 2016, she launched the Global Business Services (GBS) Industry-Academia Collaboration at UNM, positioning the university as the first private institution in Malaysia to offer the GBS course. This initiative involved collaboration with a network of higher education institutions and industry partners such as MDEC, Talent Corp, IBM, Sime Darby, Citibank, BASF, and many more.Mandy has led several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) with industry partners. She received the Lord Dearing Award in 2018, was re-nominated in 2022, and was the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Medal in 2019. Currently, she serves as one of the Industry-Academia Advisors of the Digital GBS Council, PIKOM, and has contributed to the GBS research committee. She has also served on judging panels for the GBS Asia Awards and BMCC Awards and is a member of the editorial board for various academic journals.Her research interests include Global Business Services (GBS), responsible leadership, student experiences in higher education, the future of work, and the digital marketplace. Recently, she has been exploring the roles of responsible negotiation and mediation in conflict resolution within business partnerships, business-customer interactions, family breakdowns, and parent-child relationships. Additionally, she is investigating the impact of responsible leadership on business sustainability.
