Maneesh Kumar belongs to 2000 batch of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) and had serviced in many capacities over the last 20 years. He has worked over a decade in enforcement and prevention of smuggling of narcotics, psychotropic substances, counterfeit, and smuggled goods. He also had opportunity to work in the field of Anti Money Laundering and conducted investigations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. He represented Government of India in oversea law enforcement liaison in Hong Kong SAR, PRC (HKSAR). He liaisoned with HKSAR for Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement (MLAT) for criminal offences and Surrender of Fugitive Offenders Agreement (Extradition Treaty) between India and Hong Kong. He executed first surrender of fugitive from HKSAR to India in June 2021.He is World Customs Organisation (WCO) accredited Technical Operational Advisor in the area of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and represented WCO in regional operations Action Against Counterfeit Medicine (ACIM) in Africa under taken in 2016 and 2017. The operation involved training of customs officer of countries on interdiction, risk factors and use of WCO tools for effective coordination and cooperation in real life situation at Port of Mombasa, Kenya.He holds master degree in Engineering and undergraduate degree in Law. He has been awarded Presidential Award for “Specially distinguished record of service” in 2017 by Government of India. He is hobbyist computer programmer and interested in understanding trends and patterns of trade and financial flow through Big Data Analysis.His hobbies includes Hiking and Yoga.
