Hi, I’m Manendra Singh (24), a reader and ambitious entrepreneur from the heart. My life and work experiences can be comprehended from the following:1. Hostelbee: Building a platform to solve student housing problems. We aim to create a standout ecosystem by organising the scattered Hostel and PG rental market in India. Our focus is on addressing key pain points for students, including heavy brokerage, short stays, food, flatmates, and more. Our current emphasis is on locations in Delhi and the NCR regions.2. Research: Alongside Hostelbee, I’m pursuing a PhD from the Department of Management at Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra. My research focuses on building a sustainable system for e-waste collection. The goal is to create a scalable model that can be implemented across India, addressing both environmental sustainability and social equity.Additionally, I teach business and entrepreneurship to Management students.Also,3. My work with AAP: My internship was multifaceted in close collaboration with Bhaskar Sharma, the Social Media Head. I worked as a Human Resource, Project Manager and Data Analyst for the Aam Aadmi Party. In just a few years, the party has established governments in Delhi and Punjab. I contributed to the organization’s growth by recruiting, orienting, and resolving grievances among new recruits. I also managed and oversaw multiple teams, monitoring their progress and fostering a positive work culture. With my expertise in data analysis, I provided insights to support informed decision-making.4. First Website: I created my first website in 11th standard, a social platform aimed at connecting artists and painters across the globe (at least that was the idea).5. Winkelbay: During my first year of college, after bootstrapping from family and friends, I launched my second (and first legitimate) startup called 'Winkelbay'. It was an online shopping platform dedicated to selling old and second-hand books throughout India. I built and managed a small team of five and established a network with local booksellers in Delhi who provided quality books at dirt-cheap rates. Our catalogue featured a few hundred books across multiple genres. In just a few months, we gained customers all over India. Though the venture eventually failed, it taught me valuable lessons and provided lifelong knowledge.
