Beyond the teaching and department responsibilities, I  Represented ICA at summer seminars and shared that learning during ICA faculty meetings Created and ran the Senior Speeches program in which each senior is coached in public speaking Obtained ~$20,000 in donated equipment from biotechnology firms Obtained an Ocean Guardian grant ($3000) to finance the biology service learning trip, install bottle filling stations, and buy reusable water bottles for the student body Obtained Dominican Sisters of San Jose grant ($10,000) for a classroom set of iPads Created a website of how-to videos guiding teachers through ICA's various computer programs. Initiated facilities improvements such as installing a dishwasher in the chemistry lab and creating a wine-barrel pond so the biology students have free access to aquatic invertebrates, elodia, and protists
