I am an international executive and former career diplomat in the U.S. Foreign Service with wide experience and sound judgment for doing business abroad. In the State Department I navigated the political, legal, and institutional constraints of foreign environments in Europe, Latin America, and North Africa. Later I devised strategy and business plans for Mexico and other countries in South America. I have a strong record as analyst and planner. I have assessed markets and drafted business plans for diverse groups and products. I launched a Seaplane service in the Canary Islands and developed a Tequila brand in the US, and successfully fought an expropriation in the Dominican Republic for assets in excess of 500 million dollars of value. I won a major settlement for the Government of the DR on an environmental damage case. I am launching solar energy projects in Ghana, the Gambia, and India. Most recently, and most importantly, I am assisting Ukraine with political consulting and efforts to move key defense industry factories out of reach of Russian attacks, I am good at aligning different groups and constituencies towards a single purpose. Loyalty is important to me, I expect it from my people, and I am in turn loyal to them. I seek out strong-minded and independent thinkers whom I expect to argue their positions vigorously. In Mexico, the regulatory group I headed at a competitive telephone company was the most credible, aggressive, and effective team in the country. Finally, I communicate with precision and clarity in English, Spanish, French and German. Beyond pure language ability, however, is my sensitivity to social and cultural idioms. I listen well, build rapport, and establish common ground with my interlocutors. I am at ease with CEOs, Ministers of State, mid-level company officials, financial analysts, and the full spectrum of corporate and governmental authorities.
