Manfred has over 18 years of experience in sustainability, leading projects in more than 18 countries across various geographies such as Northern and Southern Latin America, the Middle East, and the Greater Caribbean, working in diverse productive sectors, developing various projects on triple bottom line strategy and management systems that integrate aspects of corporate governance, environmental, and social issues. He is currently the Chief Sustainability Officer for the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, where he seeks to integrate sustainable practices into the core of financial solutions and development projects.Before his incorporation into BCIE, he was a partner at EY, where he led the Sustainability services for the firm in Central America, the Dominican Republic, and Panama. Additionally, he directed EY's Sustainability services for the financial sector in Northern Latin America. Earlier in his career, he held the position of director of the Environmental Dimension of the Business Alliance for Development (AED), where he led the creation of public policies and the establishment of public-private partnerships in Central America. Before his tenure at AED, he founded Productos KyC, an agro-industrial company dedicated to the production of innovative food products, serving as its general manager. Manfred is a member of the Administrative Board of the CRUSA Foundation. He has also been selected as a 'Global Shaper' by the World Economic Forum, honored with the '40 under 40' recognition by El Financiero newspaper in its 2012 edition, trained by Al Gore as a 'Climate Leader', chosen as an 'Ashoka Fellow' by Ashoka, and invited by the Government of the United States of America to its 'Changemakers' leaders’ program. He holds a Master's in Business Administration from INCAE Business School and is an Agronomic Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences from EARTH University.
