Mark Mangan is a leading international arbitration lawyer, having appeared as counsel in over 75 cases around the world and across the Asia-Pacific. Mark also regularly sits as an arbitrator, including as presiding arbitrator, in both civil and common law cases. He is a current member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, an author of a leading book on SIAC arbitration, and author/co-editor of a book on investment treaty arbitration. After having worked at UK Magic Circle and leading US firms for over 20 years in Europe and Asia, Mark was one of the founding partners of Lindsay Francis & Mangan (LFM) - a leading disputes boutique focused on resolving complex disputes in the Asia-Pacific region. The disputes on which LFM is engaged are notable for their complexity, the importance of strategy and persuasive advocacy, and the significant amounts and principles at stake. Key areas of focus include oil & gas (including LNG price reviews), renewables (solar power and nuclear), mining, banking & finance, shareholder and post M&A disputes, construction, telecommunications, crypto, and space. Mark also has an active investment treaty practice, having advised and represented both investors and states in investment treaty disputes. In addition, Mark has represented some of the world’s leading sporting organizations at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and before other tribunals, including the International Olympic Committee, the International Cricket Council, the Union Cycliste Internationale, and the Korean Olympic Committee.Mark has been recognized as a leading arbitration lawyer by Chambers and Legal 500, with Mark's team awarded International Arbitration Team of the Year in Southeast Asia by Legal 500 for 2020 and 2021.
