Air Navigation Communications Project Manager

Areas of responsibility are:- Underlying networks supporting ATC data communications: datalink (CPDLC, ADS-C, ADS-B), radar, OLDI, EGNOS, Galileo, CFMU, EAD, PENS, Voice over IP (VoIP), Voice Communications Systems (VCSs), Flight Plan Data Processors (FPDPs), ATIS, VOLMET, communications protocols (IPv4, IPv6, X.25, FR, ATM).- Aeronautical Messaging Networks (AFTN/CIDIN/AMHS).- Datalink systems.- Communications Transmission means: microwaves and optical fibre rings.Active participation in International Working Groups for the specification, development and edition of the requirements of new Communications Systems within the Aeronautical framework (ICAO, Eurocontrol, ...):- Spanish ICAO ACP (Aeronautical Communications Panel) Member, developing the specifications of the new Air/Ground and Ground/Ground ATC applications.- Chairman of the PSSG (PENS Services Steering Group), aiming at the provision and deployment of a common IP networking infrastructure to meet the connectivity requirements between ANSP’s, for CFMU and for EAD.- AFSG (Aeronautical Fixed Services Group), ICAO working group for the implementation of Aeronautical Fixed Services (AFS) in Europe.- Chairman of AEFMP (Algeria, Spain, France, Morocco and Portugal) Technical Subgroup, performing the technical and operational coordination between the five countries for the homogeneous and harmonised development of their respective Air Navigation Systems.- SPACE Project, funded by the European Commission (TEN-T Project) for a study about critical aspects for the development of the AMHS (Aeronautical Message Handling System) in Europe.
