About Angie Carr

Excellent speaker, facilitator, leader, and educator. Successful at engaging students, faculty, and staff in learning and development. Experienced in education, sales, and marketing and known as an idea person. Excels at developing positive relationships, collaborating with several departments across the college, and facilitating and presenting educational workshops. Angie is currently teaching General Psychology as an adjunct in addition to a full-time learning and development position.Currently serves as Training and Development Manager in the Human Resources Department at Metropolitan Community College - Kansas City. Develops, coordinates, and presents professional development for faculty, staff, and administrators. Facilitates the performance evaluation process for staff and coordinates required compliance training for the college. Angie formerly served as Career Services Coordinator at MCC helping students prepare for their next step after college. From 2009 to 2021 Angie served as Director of Student Life at Rockhurst University as a Direct report to the Vice President for Student Development and Athletics. She provided leadership and vision to the Department of Student Life at Rockhurst University, coordinated leadership programs, and student organization support, and Chaired the student activity fee budgeting committee who oversaw an annual budget over $500,000. In this position, she also planned and implemented all aspects of new student and transfer orientation and worked with the University Community on the First-Year Experience. Areas of experience include student and employee engagement, team building, and professional development and writing and presenting workshops specifically for teams. Additional topics that Angie has a great deal of experience presenting are marketing, retention, recruiting, leadership, goal setting, onboarding, mission-driven planning, and supervisor training.
