This system has three processes. 1)IntruPro Sensor 2) IntruProManager 3) IntruPro Log Listener.IntruPro Sensor software sits on the gateway device(PC or box) and examines the traffic inreal time for possible intrusions based on the rules provided by IntruPro Manager. Onpossible intrusion traffic generates the log message and takes configured action on thepacket or session.IntruPro Manager software sits on PC and is only GUI interface for IntruPro Sensor toconfigure, monitor and report. Using IntruPro Manager rules can be written and managed tocheck for intrusion in IP, TCP, UDP, FTP, IMAP, SMTP, HTTP, ICMP, SNMP, RPC and DNSHeaders. Port scan activity detection rules also can be written. Alert definitions can bespecified in IntruPro Manager, which enables IntruPro Log Listener to generate alertsmessages. The generated alerts can be viewed in IntruPro Manager. The intrusion detectionlogs generated can be viewed in real-time graph. The text and various types of graph reportscan be generated with various filtering options for analysis of the intrusion.IntruPro Log Listener software sits on PC and collects the intrusion logs generated by theIntruPro Sensor. On receiving the log message, the log message is checked against alertdefinitions and alert report is generated. The accumulated log messages are archived basedon the logs time stamp and number of logs can be stored in the database.I have played role of developer.
