Manik M. Jolly, creates Solar based community led clean drinking water solutions for rural and semi urban areas. He is based out of Gurgaon,India was a Consultant in Energy Access for World Bank, amongst other organizations for South and South East Asia Region from August 2013 - Jul 2014. He is part of 6 member Global team to write Global Sustainability Report 2014-15 (GSR) under Paris based organization, REN 21. - He is responsible for creating Micro Grid expansion and access for South Asia market, mainly Nepal and India, to provide electricity to over 500 Million people in this region who do not have electricity. - He was Selected as Global Green Game Changer by WWF in 2012 for his work in creating Solar Based solutions (Off Grid) in Rural India- Prior to this, he was Director, Solar Solutions (Rural) for SunEdison, one of the largest Solar companies in the world having commissioned nearly 1 GW of Solar.- He launched the prestigious ' Eradication of Darkness Campaign' in India with Ministry of Power and IFC, during his tenure with SunEdison.- He created a 17 MM $ opportunity for SunEdison in a totally non-existent Rural Electrification market, also ensuring approx 3 MM $ subsidy from the government.- He spent few months in SE Asia, mainly Cambodia creating Solar business and opening the market.- He has been part of the core team Advisory for Ministry and Power in reformatting DDG ( Decentralized Distribution and Generation ) Scheme and for REC ( Rural Electrification Corporation )- He has worked extensively in policy discussion with MoP, MNRE, Solar corporation of India etc- He is a regular speaker and presenter at Global forums focused on growth of Solar and Energy Access in developing nations.- He created landmark projects which were covered internationally by Reuters, TIME, MIT Review etc. This included Micro Grid for a remote village with 24 hour electricity, Cluster based Micro Grid, DC Micro Grid etc.- He is based out of Singapore and Delhi.
