Purpose of my Life - "Impact Lives"Vision: To empower people with Diabetes lead an extraordinary life by addressing their inner transformation, nutrition and physical activity.Mission: To empower 10 million people with type II pre-diabetes or Diabetes of 5 years or less to lead an extraordinary life. My epiphany moments were when I was in an interior village of Bankura district of West Bengal for a survey with students interns from IIM Kolkata. I visited a house and met an old lade from whom I came to know that she had to sell her means of livelihood in order to take care of her diabetes after being diagnosed of Diabetes.In a second life event I found that both my parents were diagnosed with type II diabetes. I found that multiple medicines which a person is put on not only increases the stress in the patient but also brings in the side effects by increasing the financial burden of the disease not just on the person but also on the family. By certain changes in the medicine plan and lifestyle changes both my parents are leading a wonderful life. I feel that the first feeling of a person diagnosed with pre-diabetes or diabetes is that of Fear. It is fear of unseen negative impact on health that starts taking away the quality of life from a person. I am empowering people to overcome this fear and make tiny shifts in their diet, exercise plan and stress management which leads to an extraordinary life.
