Project: CNRL Hydrotreaters Phase 3, Fort McMurray, AB Hydrotreaters Phase 3 is continuous expansion of Hydrotreaters Phase 1 & 2. After the Phase 3 is in commercial, it will have a production capacity 80,000 barrels of gas oil per day. The Phase 3 includes engineering, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning services for the combined hydrotreating unit. Responsibilities: • Prepared project technical documents and generated various instrument datasheets in Intools.• Initiated purchase requisitions for the project.• Assisted and guided other team members in preparing purchase requisitions.• Managed five instrument packages, including guided wave radar level transmitters, control valves, de-superheater valves, O2 analyzers and sulfur analyzer.• Reviewed vendors’ quotations, contacted instrumentation vendors for request for quotations (RFQ), performed technical bid evaluation, and organized meetings among of clients, vendors and EPC.• Reviewed and commented engineering technical documents from vendors.

Project: CNRL Cogen Piperack Construction Project, Fort McMurray, AB. Cogen Piperack Construction Project is an expansion of the existing Utility and Off-site facilities to meet additional requirements of the new hydrotreating phases, the Phase 2 & 3. The 100 MW co-generation plant will supply power to the oil sands site as an alternate source of energy generation. The Cogen project is a construction package and includes the design, purchase and supply of all materials, labor, supervision, equipment, expediting, inspection, transportation and material handling.Responsibilities:• Reviewed and evaluated engineering design documents from other EPC companies and took corrective and preventive actions.• Developed instrumentation MTO (Material Take Off) list and estimated a budgetary for the project.• Prepared all instrument material requisitions with the SAP program for the project and passed to the procurement team.• Supported construction team for any technical issues and clarifications.

Project: Statoil Corner CPF and Diluent and Dilbit FEED Projects, Fort McMurray, ABThis is a front end engineering design (FEED) for Corner Central Processing Facility (CPF) for bitumen without an upgrader. The Corner facility will be located approximately 90 kilometers south of the city of Fort McMurray and approximately 35 kilometers northwest of the Hamlet of Conklin. The facilities will employ Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) technology to recover bitumen with a capacity of 40,000 barrels per day. The field facilities will deliver a multiphase mixture of bitumen, water, steam and produced gas to the CPF, where the bitumen will be dehydrated and the produced water recovered, treated and re-used as boiler feed water.Responsibilities:• Developed a Macro program in Microsoft Excel for effectively generating hundreds of instrumentation datasheets, including control valves, pressure, level, temperature transmitters, pressure relief valves and so on.• Contacted instrumentation vendors for request for quotations (RFQ), and organized meetings among of clients, vendors and EPC • Developed instrumentation MTO (Material Take Off) list and estimated a budgetary for the project.• Teamworked with other members in building the instrumentation index in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet.

Project: CNRL Hydrotreaters Phase 2B, Fort McMurray, ABHydrotreaters Phase 2B is upgrading the distillates and gasoil from primary upgrading. The Phase 2B is an expansion of existing Phase 1 hydrotreating distillate and gasoil, which is a process of removing Sulfur, Nitrogen and Heavy Metals to meet product’s specifications and regulations. The Phase 2B has a production capacity 45,000 barrels of distillate and gasoil per day.Responsibilities:•Worked closely with instrumentation team members to build an instrument installation cost index for construction team.•Reviewed vendor’s technical documents and contacted the vendor for any technical clarifications to ensure instruments meet project specifications

Project: Husky Sunrise SRU, Fort McMurray, ABThe Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) is located in Sunrise CPF Phase 1B; however, it is a stand-alone design package of the Sunrise Oil Sands project. The SRU treats produced gas from CPF central processing facility (CPF) both Plants 1A and 1B and recovers the sulfur and maintains SO2 emissions within the allowable limits, by removing excess sulfur from the produced gas. After the H2S is removed, the gas is burned in process steam boilers.Responsibilities:• Prepared the technical documentations for instrumentation elements materials, service requisitions and performed the technical evaluations.• Reviewed and approved vendor’s P&IDs and instrument datasheets.• Reviewed engineering documents such as instrument datasheets, instrument index, instrument location drawings, and instrument installation drawings.• Selected and prepared MTO for instrument cable schedules, cable trays, and bulk field instruments materials.• Participated in mechanization of P&IDs.• Built the index and prepared datasheets in SPI.

4th Year School Engineering Project: Bromhead Midale Late Primary Development, SKThe Bromhead Midale reservoir is located in south-eastern Saskatchewan near the Weyburn. The first well was drilled in May 1965 and after that 11 more wells were drilled. Only four of these wells are currently producing oil at a cumulative rate of 55 bbls/day and have the water cut is around 85% on average. There is about 95% of recoverable oil already recovered. The total production from this reservoir as June 30, 2010 is 2.307 MMbbl of oil, 828.4 MMcf of gas and 7.714 MMbbl of water.This project is conducted the study of a late primary development of Bromhead Midale reservoir and proposing a feasible solution to enhance recover more gas/oil economically from the oil reservoir.Responsibilities:• Gained good understanding of oil reservoir by calculating reservoir characteristics, interpreting well logs, performing material balance and decline analysis. • Built water coning models in Computer Modeling Group reservoir simulation packages to study water behaviors in the oil reservoir and predict future reservoir performance.• Implemented drilling procedures of infilling drilling wells in current oil reservoir to enhance oil recovery for future development considerations.
