My first assignments were to understand the practical mechanism of the particle detector at KEK international laboratory in Japan. That involved understanding complex mechanism of the accelerator-detector and the software programs that are built to run the machines and data-acquisition. It also involved understanding the advanced physics of elementary particle processes and code these concepts to do the statistical studies. The statistical studies therefore involved the Monte Carlo behavior and the realistic nature of the interactions inside the geometry of the detector. This took about 3 years to study in extensive details all the mechanisms and come up with new insights and evidences of the processes that I was studying. I was studying more than 50 processes which were occurring simultaneously but the extensive details of these were studied for about 25 processes because of their importance. This continued for another 2 years during which new processes were measured quantitatively, a large quantity of sophisticated analysis code were developed, the results of research done for 3 years were discussed in various groups. The responsibilities of the detector machine were assigned to me as an expert. One would be expert after reasonable clarity of operations of the detector, who are assigned many responsibilities for independent execution. My work entailed therefore much travel for conferences and workshops and at the same time my experience was sought by junior members who I helped extensively.I last visited KEK in July 2007. I was officially connected with Belle, KEK until 2009 - 2010, (since 2002). Show less
