Research AssociateTufts University Sep 2019 - Jul 2022Medford, Massachusetts, UsAt the Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences (CABCS) in collaboration with Tufts University and the U.S. Army DEVCOM SC, โผI designed, developed and deployed a Body Sensor Network (BSN) architecture to collect multimodal data consisting of the brain, body, and behavioral information of U.S. soldiers in virtual reality (VR) environments.โผI developed signal processing methods and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to answer some of the important research questions in the projects under investigation.โผThe overall goal is to measure, predict, and enhance cognitive capabilities and human-system interactions for individuals and teams working in naturalistic high-stakes environments. -

Research Assistant, Dept. Of Electrical, Computer, And Biomedical EngineeringUniversity Of Rhode Island Jan 2016 - Aug 2019Kingston, Ri, UsI feel deeply honored to receive 4 years of Research Assistantship from the Federal Government of the United States.โผ I discovered an innovative wearable wireless optical brain imaging device, WearLight, under the project funded by the NSF (~$6 million). I built the entire system including the embedded system, analog, and digital circuits, sensors, and firmware.โผ I also developed a software that can wirelessly control the system and collect, analyze, and display data in real time. I performed intensive system testing, validation, performance analysis, and human subject pre-clinical studies.โผThe results showed that our system can monitor the brain activity of a freely moving human, which is not possible using the traditional fMRI method. Our system is also compatible with EEG for multimodal brain imaging and it reduces the overall cost of imaging. -
Senior Research FellowIndian Institute Of Science (Iisc) Jun 2012 - Dec 2015Bangalore, Karnataka, InI was a recipient of 4 years Research Fellowship Award from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.โผI invented a fast and cost-effective medical imaging system for the early detection of breast cancer (3D diffuse optical tomography).โผThe new generation system I developed was based on Optics, Analog and digital circuits, Embedded systems, IoT, and Electro-mechanics that resulted in high-speed imaging.โผI proposed an Algorithm that can perform real-time 3D DOT medical image reconstruction to visualize the images as the patient is undergoing a scan.
