• Design, develop and deploy robust data processing and analysis pipelines for a variety of NGS protocols and related methods. (RNA-Seq, Small RNA sequencing, Chip-Seq,Epic array and WGBS, WGS, Exome, Disease Panels, 16s Sequencing, Whole genome metagenomics, FMT data analysis)• Ensure that the published open source bioinformatics tools, databases and pipelines for large-scale genomics study and complex disease studies are in place, function properly and are regularly appraised and advanced. • Testing existing robust statistical tools for performing population and large-scale studies. Benchmarking different tools on standard/gold standard datasets. • Plan and document work/projects and ensure that activities are scheduled to provide accurate and timely results. • Interact with clients and clinicians to understand requirements, generate custom based reports and support till publication. • Lead a highly effective bioinformatics team.

To analyze NGS, -omics, patient, in house and public data to investigate the biological networks to develop novel algorithms and platforms. Platforms and Algorithms developed• OncoPept TUME™ platform, designed to provide immune phenotyping of the tumor microenvironment and analyses potenial biomarkers of response. • VARTK – Variant Ranking Toolkit: A consensus tool used to determine the likely consequences of amino acid substitutions on protein function.• SpotVP: Structural Properties for Variants Pathogenicity Enhanced variant interpretation using structural properties: A method of identifying functionally significant protein-altering mutations using structural features.Collaboratory projects with Academic scientists and clinicians • Analysis of Intestinal microbial alterations for donor selection and successful fecal microbiota transplant for D-lactic acidosis• Molecular alterations associated with smoking chewing and patients with no habits – Collaboration with IOB – Published in Cancer biology and Therapy. • Identification of Molecular Signaling Pathways Governing the Fate of Medial Edge Epithelium from Clefts of the Lip and Palate• Expression Levels of the Telomerase Gene TERT Determine Severity and Outcome of Disease in Aplastic Anemia Patients.• Molecular alterations associated with chronic exposure to cigarette smoke and chewing tobacco in normal oral keratinocytes • Investigation of potential tumor markers between responders and non-responders in cervical cancer • Biomakers for the identification of Sarcomatoid tumors in Renal cancers • Benchmarking and validation and automation of HLA typing tools.• Integrative analysis of TCGA data for biomarker identification.

The project involved the analysis and classification of protein kinases from all the complete genomes and building a database of protein kinases. The protein Kinanses are the key molecular players and targets in cancer research and treatment. Developed a novel approach which helped in reclassifying the kinase protein families and identification of distinguished kinases in human. Also worked on classifying the viral kinases and building an approach for identifying key sites involved in ligand binding.

Genome sequencing of important medicinal plants such as Ocimum tenuiflorum and Cissus quadrangulis and identifying key genes behind its strong medicinal properties.Also guided PhD students in projects related to identifying hotspot residues in protein protein interaction sites and the analysis of Reelin proteins using phylogenetic analysis.

My PhD was under the guidance of Dr Bernard Offmann (University of La Reunion) and Prof. R.Sowdhamini (National Center for Biological Sciences) in the framework of a joint PhD programme between University of La Reunion, (Reunion) France and Manipal University (Mahe), India.The ariticles below summarize my Phd work.
