I run almost every day. I am learning new stuff because it is interesting. I was traveling before the pandemic hit, but slowed it down for a while. I am now traveling full time again.

I did Design For Six Sigma stuff, if you have heard that term. These DFSS initiatives are supposed to focus on key metrics of a process - cost, timeliness, or quality, but in reality, you always end up focusing on cost. Some projects were wildly successful and saved a ton of cash, some were successful, but only modestly so. A few were just impractical, but of course you don't know that at the beginning. All in all, it was time well spent.

India Association of Minnesota (IAM) is a non-profit organization whose aim is to build a strong and cohesive community of Asian Indians in the state of Minnesota, USA. IAM also seeks to represent the Asian Indian population to the society at large.

Laid off from my suit job as the housing crisis hit. Oh well. Since I had time, I got the PMP certification and a Six Sigma certification along the way. Also had time to figure out where I wanted to go next.

More customer meetings, more presentations, more dinners, more suits. Why did I get back into this again? After earning my MBA, I thought I might learn to like being in management. I didn't.

Exceptionally interesting task of figuring out how to improve customer satisfaction, and thus client retention. When you are allowed to dig into all aspects of the business, you can find a whole lot of problems, from issues with product pricing, to sales incentives, to operations management, and customer support. Unique opportunity to witness a large portion of organization's problems ... without being the CEO, that is.

No more hands on software development. More customer meetings, more presentations, more suits. Better money, but in hindsight, I should have just gone back to programming.

Developed software, designed systems, managed projects. Didn't much like managing projects, but that tended to pay better.

Developed software and realized that programming in C was very fun.
