At Honda Cars India Ltd., I was brought in manage Production Operations. Looking after the production of models like CITY, JAZZ, BRV & AMAZE. Managing all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, Production planning, Capacity planning, material receiving, and shipping to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time. Some of my main responsibilities include – - Production scheduling, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules- Line balancing as per different models. - Drive 5S & Kaizen events for continuous improvements on assembly line.- Implementation & sustenance of Global Honda Quality system- Identifying and implementing Countermeasure for Line Quality & Vehicle Quality Inspection defects- Minimizing performance bottlenecks for achieving high productivity with maximization of material & machine- Leading the implementation of qualitative assurance across Raw Materials, Work In Progress, and finished Goods across various functional Departments- Handling new product documentation such as preparing Process sheets, OPS & Key Quality Points for new models- Managing and coordinating all internal audits, performing quality checks of finished products - Developing PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Control Sheet & bringing improvement with a CFT approach- Multi skilling of line technicians in Safety, Quality & Delivery; mentoring teams for Kaizens, 5S improvements on lineKey Projects Handled• Standardization and commonization of hood & fender fitment across all models. • Complete re-layout of main line for new station addition and better work management.• Process and time study of all processes and manpower optimization.• Special activity carried on for eliminating door bend issue in all models.• Process improvements across all models to reduce dent and ding.• Standardized Operation procedure made & implemented for non-cyclic process.

Some of my major contributions with Tata Motors involved – accomplishment of highest production of 36 cabs in a single shift; implemented ergo cab model within the deadline of two months. Awarded twice for best kaizen projects and presentation by Japanese consultant. Awarded for being selected amongst top 3 projects and successful completion of Q star projects.
