As a researcher at Elkien I investigate how social housing associations can adopt principles of the circular economy, combining the ecological aims of the circular economy with the social mission and activities of housing associations. My focus is on investigating how tenants can be involved in the circular strategies of housing associations. For this I initiate and maintain contacts with different stakeholders, organize small projects around circularity with different stakeholders and present insights to key stakeholders.

In my PhD I investigate how different stakeholders can cooperate in order to integrate sustainability and circularity and achieve social, environmental and economic benefits. Two of the chapters in my PhD focus on dynamic capabilities in SMEs, and how such capabilities can enable SMEs to achieve social, environmental and economic goals simultaneously. My other two chapters focus on the circular economy and how social elements, focusing on the needs and perspectives of local communities, can be integrated within circular strategies. For these chapters I adopt insights from the multi-stakeholder literature, investigating circular collaborations in networks of diverse stakeholders.
