Worked with some of Dell’s top customers to develop solutions that maximized the customer’s return on investment and minimized the total cost of ownership. This role was within Dell Professional Services, the Dell Solution Design Center, and the Dell Services Sales Group. Managed different aspects of project pricing, governance, and project management. As a CSP (Consulting Services Principal), worked various aspects of professional services consulting engagements including pre-sales, post-sales, transition to delivery and project oversight.

Qualified opportunities and worked with the Dell Proposals group, Professional Services and the sales teams to craft responses to requests for proposals issued within my segment. Worked within the Professional Services group to create statements of work.

Dell Professional Services, Consulting Services Principal: Collaborated with Dell account teams and external customers to craft and scope solutions; was responsible for preparing pricing models and compliance with governance processes. Developed statements of work and managed engagements in the field. Worked in the DPS Operations group to develop responses to requests for proposals, and later transferred to Dell as a full-time employee in this capacity.Texas Instruments, Senior Consultant: Held responsibilities as Team Lead for 5 consultants working as Linux and Windows support staff. In addition, Managed the infrastructure and change management of the internal dev team and external web store IIS servers for the E&PS division. Genome Therapeutics: Acted as member of a team that implemented a Gigabit Ethernet switched backbone using Cisco Catalyst 6500, 3500 series switches. Implemented AppleTalk routing and performed the setup of a PIX Firewall configuration.Texas Instruments: Managed the manual Windows NT 4.0 domain migration for the E&PS division. Performed an Outlook 97/MS-Exchange 5.5 rollout to desktop systems, managed a departmental intranet server, and implemented a software defect tracking solution. Pagemart Inc: Member of the design team of various components for the new Wireless PCS development platform, including Windows NT 4.0, ARCserve 6.5, Cisco Catalyst 2900 series switches using IOS 11.0 and HP OpenView. In addition, documented the existing development infrastructure for the Wireless PCS group, administered an NT RAS server for the PCS group. Installed HP OpenView to gather SNMP statistics.AT&T Capital Corp: Documented the existing infrastructure. Taylor Publishing: Maintained a file backup and archive system using Cheyenne ARCserve 6.5 and a Qualstar 4440 tape library. Maintained two production Windows NT 4.0 servers for PC and Mac clients.

Completed a server and productivity design for a large school district. Performed hardware implementation and network operation design using Novell IntranetWare v4.11

Managed a group of desktop support engineers and ultimately reduced the staffing requirements from three Technicians to one. Day to day operations required careful attention to customer service for C-level and administrative staff. Oversaw the monitoring and maintenance of nine NetWare 3.12 servers and related support equipment in a token-ring environment.Other projects included the documentation and standardization of server software and hardware in a Novell NetWare 3.12 environment, the implementation of a fault tolerance solution using Vinca Campus Standby Server for NetWare. The implementation of a WAN design for a large health care provider, and the installation and configuration of Cisco 2500 and 1004 routers using T1 and ISDN lines.

Managed a corporate migration from NetWare 3.x to NetWare 4.10 that involved over 1000 user accounts, NDS design and implementation, ongoing 3.x and 4.x integration, fault tolerance, and backup design and installation. Part of the team that streamlined software maintenance and installation over a Novell NetWare 3.11 and 4.1 mixed network environment. Installed, maintained, and provided problem analysis and resolution for a Novell LAN in a 3.11, 4.1 mixed environment. Installed and administered CD-ROM server platforms including NetWare CDROM, Microtest DiskServ, and CBIS CD Server. Maintained and utilized login scripts, batch files and automation software to facilitate application installations and upgrades. Designed user documentation for email packages and network utilization.
