I am a CNRS Research Director at the Laboratoire Albert Fert (CNRS/Thales/U. Paris-Saclay) where I lead the Oxide Electronics group, gathering 15+ researchers. We explore the physics of oxide materials grown into epitaxial thin film heterostructures, displaying a broad range of functionalities such as magnetism, ferroelectricity or superconductivity. We are interested in both the discovery of novel solid-state physics phenomena, mostly in low dimensions, and their implementation into future device applications in electronics and spintronics.I have co-authored more than 230 publications including >40 in Nature X journals, and I am the inventor of 19 patents. I have coordinated various national and international projects including three ERC grants and an R&D project sponsored by Intel.I am the laureate of several awards including the Descartes-Huygens Prize of the French Academy of Science (2017) and the EuroPhysics Prize (2022).I am the CSO and a co-founder of the start-up company Nellow, created in 2024 with Jean-Philippe Attané and Laurent Vila as the CEO and CTO. Nellow aims to develop and commercialize ultralow power microelectronic components for memory, logic and AI.
