Departments of M&A, Corporate and Commercial and TMT – Telecommunications, Media and Technology.As regards Corporate & Commercial, Manuel’s experience comprises advising in corporate governance and corporate compliance, as well as in general corporate law, and also in national and international agency, distribution and franchising agreements. Furthermore, it should be mentioned the advisory provided to Clients with respect to the life cycle of their commercial transactions. In addition, mention should be made to the participation in Mergers & Acquisitions projects, including due diligence.As regards TMT, Manuel’s experience includes overseeing disputes between operators, with communication, media and competition regulators, as well as with consumers. Moreover, Manuel has been working privacy and personal data protection matters.As regards Intellectual Property, Manuel has been involved both in Industrial Property (IP) Law and in Copyright Law matters. Thus, on one hand, Manuel's work includes registration and preservation of trademarks, of designs or models, and of domain names, as well as overseeing patent procedures, participating in IP dispute resolution (trade mark and patent litigation), advising on the transmission and the licensing of IP rights and specific due diligence projects within the context of acquisitions. On the other hand, it should be noted the collaboration in negotiation procedures with broadcasting entities of the amount due to artists, interpreters and performers for the satellite broadcasting and cable re-transmission of their performances, as well as the provision of advice for the use of their performances on TV regarding the protection of copyright and related rights.As regards Insurance Law, Manuel has particularly had experience as regards D&O policies, having provided assistance in the process of writing policies and advising if whether claims should fall under the policy’s coverage.

As Manuel has continuously been working at SRS Advogados since September 2009 until the present date, and always in the Departments of M&A, Corporate and Commercial and TMT – Telecommunications, Media and Technology, the duties and responsibilities associated with his position have been similar both as a Trainee Lawyer and as a Lawyer, though increasingly acquiring more responsibility and know-how over the years.

Provided legal advice in the in-house legal department of a listed company, in a Secondment regime, including advising the boards of directors of the group’s companies and repsective internal departments, especially as regards corporate and commercial law, furthermore including the management of disputes trusted to external lawyers.
