Food has always been my passion, but if you had told me 20 years ago that I’d be given the opportunity to play a leading role in revolutionizing the food system, I probably would’ve said you were crazy!As a Guadalajara born entrepreneur turned finance guy, I spent years climbing my way up the ladder, and while it wasn’t always easy, I thrived on the challenges that I met at each rung. After all, that’s who I am: a passionate leader, mentor, and innovator committed to solving complex problems, building purpose-driven teams, and last, but certainly not least, sharing my love of great tequila. Beginning in 2013, I realized the integral need to support food and agriculture entrepreneurs more deeply. What began as a gathering with friends quickly grew into an entirely new business within Rabobank. FoodBytes! and TERRA were both born with a simple (but ambitious) goal in mind-- to help feed the world in a sustainable way. With numerous successes and ample learnings, I realized this partnership with entrepreneurs striving to remove the mask created by mass production and standardization, and in turn changing the way people are fed, is a problem I’m committed to helping solve.
