Project: “Solar Water Purification for Developing Countries” Research required the optimization of technology, development of experiments that can test photocatalytic activity under several working conditions. Developed mathematical models that were validated with experiments.

Installed solar systems in isolated villages in the Peruvian Andes that included PV stand alone systems to power vaccine refrigerators, telecommunication systems, lighting and solar heaters for water. Studied and developed solar water purification systems with the use of TiO2 as photocatalysts.

Studied the use of biogas in adapted spark ignition engines. Improved the fuel supply for an engine that was modified for its use with biogas. Developed a mathematical model for the prediction of working parameters of the engine. Designed a Matlab code that calculates biogas consumption under different working conditions.
