At the end of 2013 Manuela Giordano began to collaborate with her collegues to provide consulting services to pharmaceutical companies. The services concern information, tools, research, capacity and solutions to serve scientists during the discovery, development and repurposing phases of the biomedical research. Manuela Giordano achieved the Master’s degree in Biological Science in 2003 at the University of Pavia. Sperimental thesis was produced with the scientific results obtained during two years of course of Master’s degree in laboratory of Developmental Biology at the Department of Animal Biology of the University of Pavia. In september 2003 she gained the contest for the doctorate School in Genetic and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Pavia. At the same time she attended, for three years, the Advanced School of Integrated Formation, Institute for Advanced Study in Pavia.. In april 2004, she participated to the theoretical course “RNA Structure and Function” at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Trieste. During three years of doctorate Manuela Giordano worked on the research project “Characterisation of nuclear non-coding RNAs induced by heat shock”. Results obtained during this period are reported in the thesis entitled “Searching for small RNAs deriving from transcription of Satellite III DNA repeats”. In 2006 she obtained the advanced study graduation at the Advanced School of Integrated Formation. Since 2003 the research activity is carried out in the laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Nucleus at the Genetic Molecular Institute of CNR, Pavia. Postdoctoral fellow. Since 2007 she works in the same laboratory working on the characterization of human long non-coding Satellite III induced by heat shock. Recently, she found that the association of these RNAs with arrays of Satellite III repetitive DNA induces defects of chromosome migration during mitosis suggesting a link between stress and aneuploidy.
