The CSA will work with and support staff, student, and alumni action groups, e.g. student leaders, self-identified URM students, allies who are committed to supporting DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), other affinity groups; facilitate and promote program-focused evening webinars, faculty/staff working groups, and other related initiatives; organize applicant pools for program-specific scholarships and initiatives (e.g. Global Conservation Fellows, Dragonfly Scholarship, etc.); review and summarize course evaluations and program assessments to improve outcomes; help update existing or design new courses, including identifying course reading materials and recently published articles, creation of rubrics, assignment guidelines, and other course materials; consult with the Miami Dragonfly team regularly about work and initiatives; bring forward other important and creative ideas as they emerge within the Dragonfly community.

Academic Advisors work in a disciplinary team (biological sciences) setting to assist students in planning for and making informed decisions about areas of study, intended college outcomes, and post-baccalaureate plans. Advisors help students assess their interests, values, and academic skills. They teach students to navigate the systems, academic processes, and policies at CU Boulder, and work with students to personalize their academic paths, including offering co-curricular guidance and leading them in regular long-term planning. In addition to one-on-one interactions, Academic Advisors work with students in group settings via workshops, presentations, campus events, and other activities. Academic Advisors stay up-to-date on curricular changes and opportunities in their areas of specialty and provide students with accurate and timely information and guidance.

Provided coverage and support as an advisor to the Biology Advising Unit and its students. Developed supportive relationships with students. Davie'S Lab

This project will explore the effects of habitat fragmentation on beetle community food-web structure using isotope analysis of beetle tissue.Each student will focus on a specific species with Drs. Davies and Resasco. To broaden their experience in ecological research, students will attend weekly lab meetings in the spring semester, and will be invited to participate in colloquium and reading groups.Interpret pit-fall collected data of invertebrates collected in Australia and sort through the different types of organisms.Conducted the methodology needed to run isotope analyses on the most abundant species of beetles surveyed.

Provided support to Peer Advisors in the daily tasks of helping students that walked into the Academic Advising Resource Center. Co-developed and co-designed the Peer Advising Handbook which outlines the different training and duties that Peer Advisors have. Developed logging strategies for over the phone conversations. Facilitated hiring processes for new Peer Advisors. Nufio Lab

Conducted research on the effects of climate change on diversity of insects in the Front Range and Rocky Mountain Region in Colorado. Surveyed open spaces throughout the developmental season for grasshoppers and other invertebrates in order to determine molting stages based on climate.
