Consultant researcher for project developing studies about the Catholic inquisition in the colonies of the Portuguese Empire, more precisely I am focusing in some particular cases of conflict between the inquisitors and the local elite in the Rio de Janeiro of the first half of the 17th century.

During my masters I developed independent research. My project aimed to encompass the intellectual and financial coopertation between and Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1646-1601) and King Frederick II of Denmark and Norway (1534-1588). Tycho developed a geo-heilocentric system that was until the second half of the seventeenth century the astronomical system most widely adopted in Europe. His theory, in addition of being a dense philosophical and astronomical renewal, brought scientific notoriety to the Court of Copenhagen. The partnership between the astronomer and the King was part of a cultural, philosophical and political revolution that took place in Denmark during this period, conventionally called "Danish Renaissance". Thereby, I intend to include in my study a view of the political context of wars and crises that preceded this event taking into account historical data of the region and of individuals in order to understand the environment of exaltation and philosophical renewal that surrounded and most likely and influenced them as well as other intellectual and political figures around them. This research was carried with financial support from the Brazilian government and with a semester of archival research in Denmark.

As a student researcher, I joined a research project about the 19th century French mission in Brazil. The focus was their contributions (ethnographic descriptions, zoological and botanical studies and linguistic research) but also the onus of their presence here, such as bioprospecting. The aim was to produce consistent historical material, eco-conscious educational material for children and to advertise the wealth of dialects that have been spoken in the countryside for a long time but are still unknown to most of the urban population.Funded by CNPq
