Responsible for production, engineering and maintenance, quality control and quality assurance, planning and logistics, raw materials and finished products warehouses, EHS, solvent recovery and R&D. Total headcount of 176 persons.Main activities:1-Implementation of cost reduction and productivity-increasing programs – Lean 6 Sigma2-Deslocalization of unprofitable production 3-Responsible for the US market, which represents 45% of the whole AtralCipan sales. 4-Deployment of Balance Score Card - management system certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001)5-Business and Partnership Development – Worldwide networking with potential production, R&D and commercial partners.6-Reorganization of the new product development process. Pipeline strengthening. 7-Budgeting, and P&L responsibility.

Getting the engineering department ready to: 1-The ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certification.2-Cope with the increasing US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requests, and to raise its efficacy and efficiency.Reorganization of the Engineering Department: IT tools were introduced; a new organizational chart (improved accountability) was deployed, the standard operation procedures (SOP’s) were reviewed, headcount was optimized and non-strategic activities were outsourced. The Engineering Department started to be managed as a cost and investment center as well.Other accomplishments:1-Construction of the second phase of a new state-of-the-art plant for one fermentation-based API.2-Construction of a new Chemical Synthesis facility for the handling of the last steps of one API production process.

1-Project Manager for the engineering construction & start-up supervision, of a Penicillin G production plant for SPIC (1000 ton Penicillin/year) – Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation in Cuddalore, Chennai – India. This plant started its production in 19952-Project Manager for the engineering and construction & start-up supervision of a Solvent recovery Plant for a Penicillin derivatives production plant for one Midlle – East country. This plant started its production in 2002.
